- you are overlooking other possible causes for poor service while doing so.
- Even if you got switched off the SLC, you'd still have poor connections
- because of that analog office you are tied to.

- The first thing that I would do in that person's shoes is to monitor the
- line for actual, audible noise. If I didn't hear any, I would double
- check the terminations at the inter-connect box and make sure they are
- clean and solid. After that, I would would call the phone company anyway
- and see about switching the phone numbers so that I had the better line
- on my data line rather than my voice line. In the process of doing that,
- you just might get a chance to discuss the situation with a facility
- engineer (you can always ask, they don't have to comply). One of the
- things I would check on is whether *both* lines are on that SLC...
